We trust you understand Microsoft’s desire to ensure that we – and you – comply with applicable government gift and ethics rules set forth in Federal and State regulations, which restrict/prohibit public sector (government or education) employees from accepting gifts from entities doing or seeking official business with the public sector. A “gift” includes meals, giveaways, free software or other items of value given away at an event. If you wish to receive any of these items, you must pay market value for them or have written approval from your gifting/ethics officer or responsible attorney. The Azure Bootcamp hosted by Microsoft is an event where drinks and snacks will be provided. The total value of these drinks and snacks is $7.00 per day. Microsoft always wants to ensure that by offering these items they do not violate the letter or spirit of your applicable gifts and ethics rules. Please either provide cash payment or email askdpeps@microsoft.com to request a letter that your ethics officer (or designated executive/office responsible for your organization’s gifts/ethics policy) or responsible attorney can review, sign in the space provided and return a scanned copy to Microsoft via email at Sara Baeth, v-sbaeth@microsoft.com or Fax a signed copy of the letter to: Sara Baeth, 443-627-2210. Cash can be mailed to Sara Baeth; 2 Hamill Road, Suite 309; Baltimore, MD 21210. You may bring exact cash for the cost of the drinks and snacks or a signed copy of the letter with you to the Event and provide it at the time of registration. Change will not be provided onsite. In order to comply with all applicable gift and ethics rules, Microsoft cannot provide government employees with “giveaways” of Microsoft products, starter kits or other items of value during this event. Please specify on your registration form and evaluation form if you are a government employee, and refrain from requesting or accepting giveaways at registration, upon submitting your evaluation form, and during any raffle or similar activity.
